Links to software download page of each area/country. Download and install the Printer driver and Scanner driver - Windows 10 - USB This driver is availble for USB connections only. If you're using a network connection, you will only be able to add a printer driver.

To locate the Print & Fax, Print & Scan or Printers & Scanners and add your Brother machine as a printer, follow the instructions below:
NOTE: The screens may differ depending on operating system being used and your Brother machine.

  1. Turn your Brother machine's power off and unplug the machine from the power outlet. If an interface cable is connected, unplug it too.

  2. Choose your connection type.
    For USB Users:
    1. Plug the Brother machine to the power outlet and turn the machine power on.
    2. Connect the Brother machine to the PC by the USB cable.

    Do not connect the product to a USB port on a keyboard or a non powered USB hub.

    1. Connect the network cable to the Brother machine and the hub.
    2. Plug the Brother machine to the power outlet and turn the machine power on.

    For Wireless Network Users:

    1. Plug the Brother machine to the power outlet and turn the machine power on.
    2. Then you will need to setup your machine on the network. For more information on how to setup the machine on the network, please refer to the Quick Setup Guide or Network User's Guide for your machine. The latest Quick Setup Guide or Network User's Guide is available in the Manuals section.

  3. Click on the Apple Menu and choose System Preferences.


  4. Click on the Print & Fax, Print & Scan or Printers & Scanners icon.


  5. Click on + button.

  6. Click on Default. Choose your Brother machine from Printer Name list.
    Confirm that the correct machine is listed for Print Using or Use. And click on Add button.
    For the CUPS Driver:
    Make sure that XXXXXXX + CUPS is listed for Print Using or Use. (Where XXXXXXX is the printer model name.)
    For PostScript Driver (not available for all models):
    Make sure that XXXXXXX BR-Script or XXXXXXX PS is listed for Print Using or Use. (Where XXXXXXX is the printer model name.)
    For AirPrint compatible models:
    If the AirPrint driver is selected, then you will not have the full functionality of the printer driver. Instead, we recommend that you choose the CUPS Driver, as detailed above, for the most complete functionality.

  7. The machine is added to the Print & Fax, Print & Scan or Printers & Scanners. Close the System Preferences.

Step 1: Turn on your Brother printer. Step 2: Open your Windows 10 PC, hit the Windows key on the keyboard, and click the Settings icon. Step 3: On the Settings window, click the Devices option. Step 4: Select the Printer & scanners option on the left side and then click the Add a printer or scanner option on the right side. Driver Install Tool Linux (rpm) / Linux (deb). Mass Deployment Tool Win10 / Win10 x64 / Win8.1 / Win8.1 x64 / Win7 / Win7 x64 / 2019 / 2016 / 2012 R2 / 2012. For optimum performance of your printer, perform an update to the latest firmware. This may help to prevent paper wrinkle or smudge printing.
